Ultravox Announce More UK Shows
by Music-News.com - November 25 2009

Ultravox will tour again in 2010.

Following their amazing 15 date comeback sell out tour of the UK, which included two outstanding shows at Hammersmith Apollo and The Roundhouse in London this year, Ultravox have today announced further UK tour dates in April 2010 on the eve of their first European Tour in 25 years.

Due to phenomenal public demand, Ultravox will venture out on the road again in April 2010, aptly named 'Return To Eden Part II’, this follows amazing fan reaction, very high critical acclaim and stellar reviews from the media. The band’s line up of Midge Ure, Chris Cross, Warren Cann and Billy Currie, will perform 6 shows across the UK and Europe. Fans can look forward to the band performing material from all their albums, including Vienna, Rage in Eden and Quartet and material not covered in the last tour.

Ultravox were one of one of the primary exponents of the British electronic pop music movement of the early 1980’s.

"When we talked about the possibility of getting together to do the 2009 tour it was only ever going to be a one off celebration of our achievements and to mark the fact it was the 30th anniversary of writing Vienna so this was never, ever on our radar. This has simply come about by the desire and phenomenal reaction by the public to see and hear more. We have all agreed to perform a handful of shows in the UK in 2010 to coincide with the release of the live DVD we recorded at the Roundhouse back in April. It just seems like a great way to leave a little addition to our substantial legacy before we all move on. We were always a live performance band and the DVD and demand for the new shows kind of confirms that." states Midge Ure

'Thank You to all the people that have helped to make this a fantastic year, I've had a ball, It was great playing with Ultravox again, and the public response made that even more special, I look forward to the next leg.' – Chris Cross

'I got off on the last tour so much!, It was a fantastic success! And I’m really looking forward to getting going again.' – Billy Currie

'I was thrilled with the reception our previous tour received. I’m looking forward to playing more shows with the guys and hitting Europe again.' – Warren Cann

Live At The Roundhouse DVD and Live CD coming soon,.and watch this space for more European dates soon.

Hello everyone, i am really gutted to inform you that Evoke has been pulled by the new managment of the venue.
A lot of hardwork had already gone in to building up the night again so it is a real shame for it to end so soon.
The chances of securing another venue at this time seems unlikely ...

Halloween 2009

  • Nov. 4th, 2009 at 11:32 AM

Considering Halloween this year fell on a Saturday we did suprisingly little,
and stayed in doors due to an early start the next day.
We watched Dario Argento's Phenomena and the truly awful The Devil's Men but at least it was a good film to have on whilst eating curry as no concentration was needed.
The plan was to watch Trick r Treat next but we fell asleep about a third of the way in :(

Sunday up early to to sort out stuff and head down to catch coach up to London.
Eventually found our way to the Hammer exhibition in Shoreditch, and after some pub lunch and more trekking we found our travelodge in Liverpool street. We were about half an hour before check in time which was 3pm and as they wanted to charge us a tenner for checking in early we wnet back to another pub for a bit.
Later that eve headed down to Camden for the Faith and the Muse gig @ Dingwalls.
Popped in the local camdne hight street KFC where a bloke and his missus commented on my boots and asked me how much i payed for them!? Then he asked me what my look was called ? I replied with erm my look.
This sort of thing is rather expected outside of London but in Camden hight street , i mean why ask me every other shop is selling new rocks and the street is filled with Goths!
This only goes to reaffirm my belief that i have a sign above my head inviting nutters to talk to me.
Met up with Rupert and his new girlfreind in the Hobgoblin then onto the excellent dingwalls venue missed the first support but arrived to see Razorblade Kisses performing minus a guitarist.
Faith and the Muse due to various problems arrived onstage even later than their original 10pm timeslot.
Think it was something like 10.40 before they started playing, so glad we had booked to stay in london as we would have missed a fantastic gig.
The nine musicians could barely all fit on the stage and it was great to see Steve playing with them as well.
It finished about 12.10 am and Viv bought me a copy of the new cd/dvd/book release witch i also managed to get signed by Monica and William. Thought it was a great performance and so much better with a full band to  my only previous time seeing them when it was accoustic. Viv loved it too and can't wait to see them again.

Having some time to kill next morning i finally got to do a long time ambition of visiting Highgate cemetery, something which luckily Viv had wanted to do as well. We hope to go back again sometime and do the proper tour . Was nice to be able to relax and do things slightly more leisurely than usual in London but still never enough time to do all.

Shall be getting to london during the day to visit the Hammer exhibition in Shoreditch

Have been back to the doctors today and am still deaf in my right ear , have to go back in another week.
